How do I allow readers to be attached to a merchant automatically during the first transaction?

1st Scenario:

A card-reader is not attached to any merchant and has status activated. A merchant initializes a transaction with this card-reader for the first time. The card-reader is automatically attached to this merchant during this first transaction.

If the card-reader has status deactivated  the card-reader is not attached. The merchant sees an error message instead.

2nd Scenario:

A card-reader is attached to some merchant and has status activated. Another merchant from the same application initializes a transaction with the same card-reader. The card-reader is automatically reattached to the new merchant during this transaction.

If the card-reader has status deactivated  the card-reader is not attached. The merchant sees an error message instead.

 

The scenarios above describe the functionalities of our “Streamlined Reader Management” feature. The benefits of this feature are time & effort saved by automating a part of the onboarding process.

If you want to make use of this feature, you can do the following:

  1. Make sure the SDK version you are using is: 2.11.0 or higher (iOS/Android) or 1.1.0 or higher (Windows)
  2. Contact Payworks Support to have the feature activated
