I have reasonable suspicion that a card reader was modified or exchanged, what can I do?

If you have reasonable suspicion that a card reader was modified or exchanged, you need to make sure that it cannot be used anymore:

  1. Look up the reader in the gateway manager.
  2. Deactivate the reader.
  3. If the reader was attached to a merchant, detach it from the merchant.
  4. If the reader is located at a merchant, ask the merchant to return the reader to you.
  5. Inform us at readers@payworksmobile.com.
